Mint Chocolate Shake


I’ve really been craving chocolate recently to the point where I’ve eaten two bars a day since Saturday. It’s that time of the month where I have to give into my hormones. I always allow myself what I want because life’s too short and periods are too rough.

Saying all of this chocolate isn’t a massive deal for me, I honestly could live without it. So I’ve been a little surprised by my recent obsession.

I was craving something sweet yesterday so I thought why not make a thick delicious milkshake. The thicker the better in my opinion. There’s something so satisfying about them. Why I’m craving something cold at this time of year I don’t know.

The combination of fresh mint and cacao is so moorish. The pecans add a gorgeous nuttiness and thickness to it too.

This is a very let’s just put it in and see recipe. It turned out to be a success…to be honest what can go wrong with chocolate and almond butter. Make sure you use enough ice because the colder the better.


1 Tablespoon Almond Butter

2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup

5 Pecans

8 Mint Leaves

2 Tablespoons Cacao Powder

1 Overripe banana

3 Cups Dairy Free Milk Of Choice

1 Dessert Spoon Coconut Sugar

3 Big Handfuls Of Ice

Dark Chocolate To Shave On Top (optional)


Blend all the ingredients together. It will make quite a lot… I can’t just drink one glass I always have to make extra.

When it’s all blended I like to shave some dark chocolate on top. It just makes it that more delicious and special.
