Books, books and more books
I’m so excited for the colder evenings spent wrapped up in a blanket with a great book in hand. Autumn is my favourite time of year, don’t get me wrong I love me some sun but when the leaves start dropping I’m at my happiest. I’m trying to spend less time watching YouTube and being on my phone. I find myself getting pretty anxious if I watch alot of YouTube and look at Instagram for hours on end. This is where the books come in.
My Amazon orders have been getting a little out of hand lately…
Here are my latest picks!
Jon Ronson’s The Psychopath Test. I adore Jon Ronson, I could spend hours listening to him talk. This is the first book I’ve owned of his and it wont be last! I couldn’t put this down when I was on holiday last week . It’s hilarious, insightful and fun. I can’t wait to read his book So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed next.
Agatha Christie’s At Bertram’s Hotel. I’m all about the murder mysteries, I love ’em. Her books are just so easy to read, they pass the time and just let my mind relax. Miss Marple spends time at a luxurious London Hotel where a murder happens to ensue. So up my street.
The Party by Elizabeth Day. I heard about this book whilst listening to The High Low podcast. Dolly and Pandora interviewed Elizabeth Day on one of their episodes and her book sounds so interesting! A student becomes obsessed with his popular and rich classmate until it all goes horribly wrong at a party.
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. My cousin lent me this book about 2 years ago and I never got round to reading it…until now. This novel is at the top of the list, I’ve read so many amazing reviews of this book. I haven’t read much about it because I don’t want to come across any spoilers but everyone tells me how much of a must read it is. This book will probably take me the whole of September to read…cos boy is it big.
Leah Remini’s Troublemaker. Scientology interests me so so much, I honestly can’t get my head around it. I think Leah Remini since leaving the cult has come out as a complete hero, I’m in awe of her. This looks like the kind of biography you would read in 2 days. I can’t wait to get stuck in, I know I’m going to enjoy it. Leah’s interview with Joe Rogan which I will link here is not to be missed.
